A conference with deep roots
The Effective Teaching Institute originated with Dr. Willard Bill Sr. and Jim Egawa in the 1980s. Leadership of this work has been passed down to Dr. Denise Bill and Muckleshoot Tribal College.
Though its format and content have evolved over the years, the core remains the same: engaging in effective practices for Native students. The institute shares cultural insights, examples, models, and hands-on experiences for those looking to strengthen the ways they work with Native students.
Who it's for: teachers, professors, paraeducators, and administrators seeking culturally relevant ways to
work with local Tribes in Washington State.
